The national women leader of pan-Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Mrs. Rita Daniels Chukwuji has played host to a federal commissioner of the Federal Character Commissioner, Amb. Chief Ginika Tor Williams at her Abuja resident.
The visit is not unconnected with efforts to mobilize support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
In her remarks, the women Leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide welcomed Chief Ginika Williams who is also the founder and Leader of Omaluegwuoku and her team and told her that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Women Wing Worldwide is an umbrella body speaking for Ndigbo Worldwide, born and unborn.
According to Mrs. Chukwuji the women wing is ready to listen to every candidate irrespective of their political party.
She said until Ndigbo are convinced on what they will get, they have not openly endorsed anyone.
She said, "When we hear from them, to understand what they have for Ndigbo before we can decide who among them we the women wing can support with the collective decision of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, including the youth wing.
"Our interest is to see that Ndigbo will never be marginalized again in the comity of nation. Whoever that has the interest of our people in their manifesto and promise to bring development to alaigbo will have our support."
She used the opportunity to advise all political parties to focus in Issue-based campaign, not regional politics.
Earlier in her remarks, Amb. Ginika Williams urged Ohanaeze Ndigbo women to support the presidential candidate of APC, Bola Tinubu and his running mate Sen. Kashim Shettima in 2023.
According to her, Tinubu presidency will be the beginning of a new dawn for Ndigbo and South East in general, appealing to them to give APC all their backing to retain power beyond 2023.
