Tinubu sacks Binani as Adamawa’s campaign coordinator, names ex-deputy gov as replacement

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has sacked Senator Aisha Dahiru, popularly called Binani as the presidential council’s campaign coordinator for Adamawa state.

The development comes barely 12 hours after it was reported that the executive committee of the APC in the state has rejected the female senator as coordinator and members of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) led by her in the state.

Reacting to the story, the party’s presidential candidate, Tinubu, replaced Binani with a former Adamawa state deputy governor, Martin Babale.

A letter to that effect signed by the Plateau state governor who doubles as the Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, reads in part, “Appointment to serve as Adamawa state Interim Coordinator for Tinubu/Shetima Presidential Campaign Council.

“By way of this letter, I’m pleased to formally convey your appointment as Adamawa state Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

“This appointment is fitting and appropriate, given your impressive political achievement and the exemplary leadership you have demonstrated as a major pillar of the party.
“We are confident that your wealth of experience will impact greatly on our mission to drive an effective message-driven campaign.”

Recall that the election of Binani as APC guber candidate in the 2023 general elections was recently nullified by a court, a move that has been challenged by the Senator.
