The vice Charman Senate Committee on Drugs and Narcotics, Senator Osita Ngwu of Enugu West Senatorial district of Enugu state and the Chairman of National Drug Law Enforcement Agencies (NDLEA), Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa, on 26th September, 2023, received the Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Sen Kasim Shettima at the ongoing 31st Meeting of Heads of National Drug Law Enforcement Agencies (HONLEA) in Africa at the Abuja Continental Hotel.
Recall that Delegates from 54 African countries and 15 observer nations are currently converging in Abuja for the 31st meeting of Heads of National Drug Law Enforcement Agencies, Africa, (HONLAF) to discuss new trends and partnerships to curb the global drug scourge.
Enugupress.ng reports that top on their agenda will be discussions and collaborations on alternative development to cannabis cultivation, assets forfeiture, cryptocurrency and money laundering by drug cartels, among others.
The conference, which is holding between Tuesday 26th and Friday 29th September will also provide opportunities for bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the main agenda.
