The Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State chapter, has congratulated Governor Peter
Ndubuisi Mbah, on his recent victory at the Appeal Court.
The appellate court sitting in Lagos, had on the 10th of November, 2023, reaffirmed the electoral triumph of His Excellency; Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah during the March 18th Governorship election.
Reacting to the judgement, the chairman of ALGON in Enugu state, Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Ede, while addressing pressmen at ALGON office, immediately after the verdict, had described the court victory as 'resounding testament to the strength of democratic processes."
His Words: "It is a victory for democracy and the decision serves as a beacon of confidence in our electoral process.
"The reaffirmation reflects the meticulous scrutiny of legal authorities, that endures that the voice of the people, as expressed through the ballot box, is both respected and protected.
"This reaffirmation is not only a personal victory for the Governor but also a celebration of the democratic ideals that underpin the success of our nation.
The major import of this victory is that It has reinforced the belief that, in the face of challenges, our legal institutions stand as pillars of justice, ensuring that the will of the people prevails.
Speaking further, he affirmed that Dr. Mbah's unwavering dedication to public service and the mandate bestowed upon him by the electorate has been vindicated.
"By this judicial confirmation, the Governor can now fully focus on fulfilling the promises made to Ndi Enugu during the campaign and steering the state towards progress and prosperity as the court case is a mere distraction.
He however, beckoned on them to brace up for a period of stability and effective governance, knowing that their chosen leader has withstood legal scrutiny and emerged victorious.
