FACTS CHECKS ON RURAL ELECTRIFICATION: Igbo-Etiti LG Chairman, Nwodo, Donates Five 300 KVA Transformers to various rural communities, in under Two Years


 

•Gifted other Benefiting Communities approximately 17 Million Naira to procure installations and commissioning.


Determined to make life more abundant for the people of Igbo-Etiti local government area of Enugu state, the Hon. Ikenna Nwodo-led  administration, has, in two years, donated five 300KVA transformers to rural communities of his LGA, to power electricity and take the benefitting communities out of darkness.

The transformers were donated and installed at; Ukehe (various communities), Ohebe Dim, Onyohor, and Ohodo.

The Council chairman, had also given 5 Million Naira each to Umuna and Amadim, Ukehe communities as a grant to procure armoured cables, insulators, high and low tension poles, other ancillaries and cleared EEDC bills to procure commissioning and restoration of power.

He had equally, given about 2 Million Naira Grant for Rural Electrification and Reticulation in Ikpogwu Ukehe, as well as provided another 2.5 Million Naira Grant to Support Rural Electrification and Reticulation in Ozalla and Aku.

Hon. Nwodo In his remarks while commissioning one of the transformers, had lamented that the lives, health, businesses and security of lives and properties of the communities at large had been affected negatively due to the incessant power failure in the area; hence his government's intervention dubbed “Light-up Igbo-Etiti”.

"Our intention is to make life easy for the rural people, by putting an end to the total blackout which the people had witnessed in the past.”

"We believe this will touch the lives, health, businesses and security of lives and properties of the communities at large, which had been affected negatively due to power failure in the area", The Council boss had said.. 

Meanwhile, while installation of these facilities have already been completed at Uwelle Amokofia Ukehe, Aku, Onyohor Junction and Ohebe Dim, the projects at Ohodo, Umudule etc are currently ongoing at pace to ensure completion before the yuletide season.
