JUST IN: Ex-Governor, Ugwuanyi Donates 1 Million Naira to Save Accident Victim

 



The former Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, on Sunday, 12th of November, 2023, donated one million Naira to save an accident victim, known as Ezema Chidubem.

Ezema who was riding a motorcycle along Edem road, Amenu-Nsukka, had a head-on collision with an overspending motorcycle, which  resulted in him having severe bleeding on the nose and swelling on the head.

He was however, rushed to Chief Julius Ajogwu memorial hospital, where a CT SCAN was done and the results showed the accident victim needed an urgent Neurosurgery, and he was however, referred to Enugu for further treatment.

When our correspondent visited the hospital,  the medical Director of Chief Julius Ajogwu Memorial hospital and DG Gburugburu free surgery programme, Dr. George Ajogwu, explained that the situation was severe and needed an urgent financial assistance to save the young lad, hence he resorted to calling the former Governor.

According to him: "The name of the patient is Ezema Chidubem from Edem. The name of the person that hit the patient with bike is Ugwuanyi Christopher, and the patient was rushed to Chief Julius Ajogwu memorial hospital with severe bleeding on the nose, swelling on the head and he was restless on Friday night.

"On Saturday, the CT SCAN was done and there was urgent indication for Neurosurgery which the patient was referred to Enugu by my hospital. But they refused to move to Enugu because there was no money. 

"It was at this point that I called Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Gburugburu and explained the situation to him which he sent 1000,000.00 to be given to the young man for easier movement to see a Neurosurgeon in Enugu.

"The formerly Governor also promised to bring more money provided that the surgery was successfully done," the doctor explained.
