Uzo Uwani local government Area, on 16th of November, 2023, flagged off vaccination exercise against circulating Variant Polio Virus Type 2 (CVP2)
This was according to directives by the Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency in collaboration with State Ministry of Health, NPHCDA, WHO, UNICEF and other critical stakeholders.
The exercise is targeted at Children between 0-59 Months across the rural Council.
The vaccination period is 16th to 19th of November, 2023.
During the period, trained Health Workers will visit homes, schools, churches, market places and everywhere children under the age bracket are found to administer novel Oral Polio Vaccine (nOPV) on them.
Those who spoke during the program include Enwe Clementina, HOD of Health in the LGA; Ayogu Emmanuel, Acting LIO; Eze Chibuzo, Cold chain Officer and Eze Azubuike, State Technical Facilitator.
Others include Ugwu Scholastica, OIC Health Centre, Ukpabi-Nimbo; Dieke Celina, Ward Focal person, Nimbo ward 1 and Okweli VC, Director Environmental Health, Enugu state primary health care development agency.
