YAN congratulates Gov. Mbah on Supreme Court victory

The Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Enugu State Chapter, has congratulated Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on the affirmation of his election by the Supreme Court, saying the time to move Enugu State forward has come.

Enugupress.ng recalls that the apex court, last week dismissed the appeal of the Labour Party (LP), and its Governorship Candidate, Chijioke Edeoga.

Edeoga had challenged the victory of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah at the March 18th poll and sought to overturn the declaration of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Supreme Court, however, dismissed the appeal, while reaffirming Governor Peter Mbah's mandate.

In a congratulatory message issued by the Speaker of the youth group, Engr. Anthony Ubagu, the group said “Our judicial system has once again proven itself in tackling disputes that arise from our elections”.

The group, which noted the finality of the apex court ruling on disputes on the 2023 governorship election, said the resolution of the questions that surrounded the election would enable the governor concentrate in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Enugu State.

“On behalf of YAN, Enugu state Chapter,, I congratulate Governor Peter Mbah on his judicial victory at the apex court.

“It is my hope that your administration will bring progress, unity, and prosperity to our State, and I want to restate our commitment to partner with you in offering good governance for our people,” he said
