The SPA on Media and Publicity to the Executive Chairman of Ezeagu Local government Council, Comr. Jideofor Jude chijioke, has tendered his resignation letter to Hon. Chukwudi A. Ozoeluba, the Executive Chairman of the LGA.
According to a letter sighted by Enugupress.ng Correspondence, The SPA listed none payment of salaries running into four months and Negligence of professional services by the Council as reasons for his decision.
Comr. Jideofor however, thanked the chairman for the opportunity given to him to serve the LGA as its mouthpiece in the past one year and counting, while noting that the position has afforded him the golden opportunity to contribute in the governance of the council.
Excerpts from the letter reads: "Dear Hon Chukwudi A. Ozoeluba, Executive Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government Area.
"I trust this letter finds you well. It is with a sense of duty and regret that I submit my resignation from the esteemed position of Special Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Ezeagu Local Government Council Chairman, effective immediately.
"Serving in this political appointment has been an honor, and I am grateful for the opportunities it has provided for my personal and professional growth. However, recent challenges have compelled me to make this difficult decision. The non-payment of my salary for the past Four months has placed a significant strain on my personal and financial well-being, affecting my ability to meet both my professional obligations and personal commitments.
"Furthermore, I have observed a concerning neglect of the responsibilities associated with my office, impacting my effectiveness in contributing to the Council's objectives. As a political appointee, I hold a deep commitment to the standards expected in such a position and believe that my skills and dedication could be better utilized in an environment that fully acknowledges and values the contributions of its political appointees.
"I appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter and express my sincere gratitude for the experiences and opportunities gained during my tenure.
"Thank you for your support.
