•As Council Boss Gives Financial Assistance of 600,000 to three law-school-bound students
The Executive chairman of Uzo Uwani LGA of Enugu State, Hon. Chukwudi Celestine Nnadozie, On Saturday, 13th January, 2024, began awarding bursaries of 50,000 each to about 260 students of Uzo Uwani LGA extraction, across five tertiary institutions in Enugu state.
The bursary awards, amounting to about 13. 3 million Naira was paid to students in five tertiary institutions such as the University of Nigeria, Naukka; University of Nigeria, Enugu Campu; Enugu state University of Science and Technology, ESUTEC; Institute of Management and Technology, IMT; and Federal college of Education, Eha-mufu.
Those who were awarded on 13th of January, 2024, were 180 across the schools above, as the remaining 80 shortlisted candidates would be paid on 20th of January, 2024.
Meanwhile, the council chairman also gave financial supports of 200, 000 each to about two law school-bound female students from the rural council, namely, Ezechi chinenyenwa Elpleasant from Umulokpa, Utazi Chisom from Nimbo and Ezeanyawu Emmanuel Chukwebuka from Adaba.
Speaking during the occasion, the council chairman who was accompanied by the secretary of the LGA, Hon. Michael Anikezie; Supervisor for health in the LGA, Dr. Chukwebuka Collins Okafor; supervisor for Agriculture, Hon. Chika Aluma; Chief of staff to the LG chairman, Prince Emeka Oroko; leader of Uzo Uwani legislative House, Hon. Philip Okoro and the SUG president of UNN, Michael Utazi; among others, noted that the aim was to assist the students in the little way the council can.
"Our goal is to help the students in our own little way", the council boss said.
