Enugu Deputy Governor, Speaker, LG Chairmen, Others, Attend Ekwueme's Mother's Burial at Adaba, Uzo Uwani LGA

The Enugu state deputy Governor, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai and the speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Uche Ugwu, were among top dignitaries that graced the burial ceremony of  Chief Mrs./ Lolo Esther Unoma Ekwueme (Nee Nebe), mother of Hon. Chukwuma Martins Ekwueme, member representing Uzo Uwani State Constituency in the Enugu state House of Assembly.


Among top lawmakers who joined the speaker to the event include the deputy speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Ezenta Ezeani; Johnson Ani, Majority Leader; EJIKE Eze, Majority whip; Osita Eze, Oji River; Osita Okoh, Enugu East urban; Ugwu Raymond, Enugu East rural; Gabriel Eze, Isi Uzo; Obe Clifford, Igbo Eze North; Okey Mba, Nkanu East; Iloabuchi Aniagu, Minority Leader; Malachy Onyechi, Nsukka; Pius Ezegwu, Nsukka; Okechukwu Aneke, Udi; Rt Hon Jane Eneh, Hon. Johnson Ani Samuel, Enugu North, (Majority Leader); Hon. Ede Magnus, Aninri; Hon. Chima Obieze, Ezeagu; Hon. Anthony Nwankwo, Awgu south; Hon. Amuka Williams, Igbo Etiti West; Hon. The Burial Ceremony which took place at Amaetiti in Adaba, Uzo Uwani LGA of Enugu State, also attracted a good number of LG chairmen Which include the host council chairman, Hon. Chukwudi Celestine Nnadozie; his Igboetiti LGA counterpart, Hon. Ikenna Nwodo; Oji River LG Chairman, Hon Chinedu Onyeagba; Udi LG Chairman, Hon. Nze Philip; Enugu south Council Chairman, Chimezie Robinson Nkwuo; among others. 


Also at the event were other prominent individuals such as Chief Ikeje Asogwa, Hon. Emeka Ajaogwu, Commissioner for Special Duties; Malachy Asalaga;  Hon. Patric Ubru, Commissioner for Agriculture; Dr. Barth Ezegwu, former Chief of protocol; Hon. Obi Kama, Former Commissioner for Science and Technology; Hon. Cornell Onwubuya, Immediate past SPA to get former Governor; among others. 


Those who were on hand to receive the large crowed of sympathizers include top stakeholders from Uzo Uwani LGA, which include Ozor. Pius Okeagu, Vice Chairman; Hon. Jude Okonkwo PDP Chairman; Hon. Mathew Idu, former commissioner for Agriculture; Hon. John Offor, State Exco, Hon. Nwanneka Okoro, National Ex Official, Hon. Mrs. Rita Anigbogu, DG Ekwueme Campaign organization; Hon. BB Ukuta, Former State House Member; Hon. Vincent Diugwu, Former SSA; Hon. Philip Okoro, Leader Uzo Uwani Legislative Council; Aniagor Sunday, Administrator of Ogboli zone; Chiemelie Dieke, Administrator of Adada zone; Barr. Fred Chike, Administrator of Mbanano zone; etcetera.


It was gathered that the lawmaker buried his mother amid tears.

 

This comes after the parliamentarian held a service of songs in honour of his late mother on Thursday, 25th January, 2024, which was shortly followed by Christian Wake, at his country home.

 

Moments after the burial, Hon. Ekwueme shared his feelings and thanked those who contributed to the success of the event.


His Words: "I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who showed up and stood by us during my mom's burial. Your presence and support meant the world to me and my family. 


"Words cannot fully convey the depth of our appreciation for your kindness, love, and unwavering support during this difficult time. Your gestures, prayers, and comforting words gave us strength and solace, and for that, we are forever grateful. 


"It is truly humbling to witness such a display of friendship and compassion. Your support can never be taken for granted, and it has left an everlasting impact on our hearts. 


"Thank you once again for being there for us and honoring my mom's memory. May we continue to cherish the memories we shared, and may her soul rest in eternal peace."


May the soul of late Chief Mrs./ Lolo Esther Unoma Ekwueme (Nee Nebe), rest in the Lord. Amen.
