The Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndibuisi Mbah, has been commended over his prompt intervention in the recent security challenges along Opanda-Adani road, in Uzo Uwani LGA of Enugu State.
The governor's prompt intervention, resulting in the deployment of more soldiers by the GOC in charge of 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, as well as deployment of Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), to combat insecurity along the highway, was applauded by Hon. Chukwudi Celestine Nnadozie, Executive chairman of Uzo Uwani LGA of Enugu State.
The Council Boss, however, stated that the government and people of the LGA, were very happy with the latest development, hence their show of appreciation to the governor of the state.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Council Chairman and made available for publication.
His words: "On behalf of the government and people of Uzo Uwani LGA, we are saying a very big Thank you to our Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, for his quick intervention in the recent security challenges along Opanda-Adani road.
"We are glad to announce the presence of Military armoured personnel carrier (APC), already stationed along the highway, in order to flush out the criminal elements around the Area.
"We are also glad to announce the presence of more agile and combat-ready soldiers along Opanda-Adani road.
"And as a government at the grassroots level, we shall continue to support them with all our might," the statement read.
