The Senate Minority Whip, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu today paid a courtesy visit to the new Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Yu Dunhai in a bid to welcome him and also appreciate the Embassy for extending various capacity building projects and Developmental Programmes to his Constituency.
The Senator's visit is aimed at welcoming the new Chinese Ambassador, who resumed recently at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Abuja.
The courtesy visit afforded the Senate Minority Whip, and the newly appointed Ambassador the opportunity to synergize and agree on strategies and services that will benefit the good people of Enugu West.
The Senator who was received by the Ambassador, His Excellency, Yu Dunhai, expressed happiness for the visit.
The new Chinese Ambassador who was visibly happy, expressed joy that the Senate Minority was the first Government official to visit him since his resumption in Nigeria, last week.
Senator Ngwu while addressing the Ambassador, stated that his vist was to welcome him to Nigeria.
According to Senator Ngwu,
"My visit today is to welcome Your Excellency to Nigeria and also let you know that your predecessor, H.E Cui Jianchun was a very good friend of mine who Collaborated with my Constituents in many positive ways before completing his tenure and returning to China.
I must say that he used his good offices to enable the Embassy play important part in human capacity development efforts in Enugu West Senatorial District.
Therefore this visit also serves a way to say thank you to the Embassy for the various exchange programmes."
Senator Ngwu seized the opportunity to appreciate the Embassy for always selecting Enugu West constituents to participate in its empowerment and human capacity development programmes.
Responding the Ambassador, H.E Yu Dunhai, commended the Senator for the visit and assured him of more benefits to the good people of Enugu West Senatorial District
He specifically told the Senate Minority Whip that he is in the know about his good performances and effective representation of his constituents.
These include the numerous educational and Developmental programmes powered by the Senator in Enugu West; especially his recent “Back to School” project, where the Senator empowered several students with scholarships, school bags, uniforms, books and other school materials.
Ambassador Yu also told the Senator that as a human capacity development enthusiast, he was highly impressed by such projects and other impressive initiatives of the Senator. He assured the Senator of the Chinese Government support.
