A chairmanship Aspirant in Ezeagu LGA of Enugu State, Hon. Chijioke Jideofor, has unveiled his action plans and lofty agenda for Ezeagu local government area.
Hon. Jideofor who hails from Ogwofia Imezi Owa in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, made this disclosure in a statement sent to Enugupress.ng.
The Aspirant however, highlighted key areas of interest to include Agricultural Development, Security, education, youth development, infrastructural development, among others.
His Words: "As a proud son of Egede, Ogwofia Imezi Owa in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State,I Hon. Chijioke Jideofor, am excited to present my manifesto for the position of Executive Chairman of our beloved Local Government Area.
"With my rich educational background in Agricultural Economics and Extension, coupled with extensive experience in media and public service, I am confident in my ability to drive holistic development in Ezeagu.
MY AGENDA BELOW:
_Agricultural Development_
Agriculture is the backbone of our economy, and we must prioritize its development to ensure food security and generate revenue. As someone who studied Agricultural Economics and Extension, I will:
- Implement mechanized farming systems to increase productivity and efficiency
- Encourage the use of fallowed lands for farming, ensuring maximum utilization of our resources
- Establish programs to support farmers, including access to credit facilities, training, and market linkages
- Promote agro-processing and value addition to increase the economic benefits of our agricultural produce
_Security_
Security of life and properties is the primary purpose of government. I will:
- Collaborate with relevant quarters and the State government to curb crimes in Ezeagu
- Establish a robust security network, including community policing and surveillance systems
- Ensure timely response to security breaches and emergencies
- Engage with traditional rulers, community leaders, and youth groups to promote peace and stability
_Education_
As someone who has benefited from government scholarship funding, I understand the importance of education. My administration will:
- Prioritize education, recognizing its role in developing human capital
- Establish scholarship programs to reward competency and capacity
- Provide conducive learning environments, including renovated classrooms, libraries, and laboratories
- Support teacher training and development to enhance the quality of education
_Youths Engagement and Development_
Youths are critical stakeholders in our development journey. I will:
- Establish programs to equip our youth with digital skills, entrepreneurship training, and mentorship
- Provide funding and support for youth-led initiatives and projects
- Engage with youth groups to understand their needs and concerns
- Reduce crime rate by 75% through targeted youth engagement and empowerment programs
_Infrastructural Development_
We must partner with the State government to address the infrastructural decay in Ezeagu. My administration will:
- Contribute our percentage to ensure the completion of ongoing projects
- Initiate new projects, including roads, bridges, and public buildings
- Ensure timely maintenance of existing infrastructure to prevent decay
- Promote public-private partnerships to attract investments in infrastructure development
_Media and Public Service Experience_
As someone who has served two Local Government chairmen as Special Adviser on media, I have vast knowledge of the pressing needs of our people. I will:
- Utilize my media experience to promote transparency and accountability in governance
- Engage with the press and the public to ensure open communication channels
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, recognizing the diversity of our people
