In pursuance of their believe in the universally accepted aphorism which states that one good turn deserves another, the good people of Akiyi Umulokpa, Uzouwani Local Government Area paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro Industrialization Hon Patrick Ubru on April 2nd, 2025.
According to the President General of the Autonomous community, Engr. Malachy Chukwuebuka Anikwe, they came to Ministry to appreciate the State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for keeping to his campaign promises especially on Agricultural Development of the State.
According to the President General, the Community is personally thrilled for the choice of Akiyi Umulokpa as one of the three Agro processing zones in Enugu State located at Owo (Enugu East, ), Okpanku (Enugu South) and Akiyi Umulokpa (Enugu North)
The President General equally used the opportunity to thank the Hon. Commissioner for sticking to the directive of the Governor in the implementation of the agricultural policies of the State.
The President General concluded by handing over to the Commissioner, a letter of appreciation from the community signed by him and the traditional ruler of the community where they stressed their readiness to make the required sacrifices that will see to the realization of the dream project.
In his response, the Honourable Commissioner thanked the community for the visit with a special thanks to God Almighty for making all things possible as well as blessing Enugu State with the kind of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah whom he described as a governor that is never interested in giving hand outs to people but practical transformation of the economy of the State for the good of the people of the State.
The Commissioner on his conclusion further informed the community that apart from the Agro Processing zone, His Excellency has graciously chosen Akiyi Umulokpa as a base for massive cassava growing in the State. He thanked them for coming up with a documentation of the donor families of the land areas. Government according the Comissioner had captured Umulokpa as well, as an Agro Industrial Processing Zone and that the community is likely to benefit from its Farm Estate Project. that will b
The farm estate will be a 200 hectares of land to be shared among 200 farmers of each Local Government. The farm Estate which will have perimeter fencing is aimed at wading off herders incursions into our farm areas.
